We are very excited about our next Deep Blue show at Public Works where we have a sick double headliner lineup with two amazing DJs/producers from Berlin, Radio Slave and Mayaan Nidam.
What can I say about Radio Slave? The Rekids records co-founder is a solid DJ who knows how to move the dancefloor. He had one of his first residencies at Ministry of Sound in London in the early 90s which was one of the only places to hear real house music at the time. Since then a Balance 023 and a Fabric no.48 mix compilation, and also released 'Radio Slave presents Strictly Rhythms Vol. 5' - a double CD compilation featuring no less than 8 of his own re-edits of the Strictly catalogue. Back in the day, DJ Mag listed him as one of the greatest remixers ever, and also awarded him 'Best British Producer' in the 'Best Of British' awards where he did remixes for guys like Armand Van Helden, Slam, UNKLE, DJ Hell, Josh Wink, DJ Sneak, to name a few. Not to mention producing hits on his Rekids record label like "My Bleep", "Bell Clap Dance", The "No Sleep" series and the anthemic "Grindhouse". Today Radio Slave holds residencies at Berlin's Panorama Bar and Paris' Rex Club with the Rekids label nights, and can be found most weekends headlining the world's top clubs such as Fabric (London), The Womb (Tokyo), Space (Ibiza), Sub Club (Glasgow) and Robert Johnson (Frankfurt).
What can I say about Maayan Nidam? I first heard of Maayan when she did an album on Luciano's Cadenza records and he gave her a residency at his Vagabundos party in Ibiza. Since then she has been making some great tunes on labels like Perlon. She also has been producing underground minimal tracks since 2006 under the moniker Miss Fitz where guys like Ricardo Villalobos, Sascha Dive, and Ryan Crosson have been remixer her tracks.
